Privacy Policy

Last Updated: December 16, 2025

New Day Budgeting (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”).

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We have designed our App to minimize data collection. We categorize our users into two groups: Free Users and Premium (Paid) Users.

A. For All Users (Free & Premium)

  • Usage Data: We may collect anonymous usage statistics (e.g., screens visited, app crashes) to help us improve the App’s stability and performance. This data is not linked to your personal identity.
  • Account Information (Optional): If you create an account to sync settings across devices, we collect your email address and a password.

B. For Premium Users Only (Plaid Integration)

To provide automated budgeting features, Premium users may choose to link their bank accounts. This service is provided through Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”).

  • Tokenized Access: We do not receive or store your raw financial data or bank credentials. Instead, we utilize a secure access token provided by Plaid to view the necessary insights required to generate your budget.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to provide the App’s functionality:

  • To Display Your Budget: We use the secure token to categorize your spending and visualize your budget progress.
  • To Improve the App: We use crash reports and anonymous usage data to fix bugs and enhance user experience.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or financial data to any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

3. Third-Party Services (Plaid)

We use Plaid Technologies, Inc. (“Plaid”) to connect your financial accounts.

  • Data Processing: When you connect a bank account, you interact directly with Plaid. Plaid verifies your credentials with your bank and provides us with a secure “token” (a digital key).
  • No Raw Data Access: New Day Budgeting does not receive raw financial data through Plaid. Plaid stores your financial data as encrypted data and provides us with access strictly via secure tokens.
  • Your Consent: By connecting your account, you acknowledge and agree that such information will be treated in accordance with Plaid’s Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Financial Data Security: All sensitive user financial data is held securely by Plaid. New Day Budgeting does not hold or store any sensitive user financial data, nor do we store any associated raw financial data on our servers.
  • Credential Security: We never access, see, or store your bank login credentials (usernames or passwords).
  • Token Security: The secure tokens used to facilitate the Plaid integration are protected using industry-standard encryption.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Retention: We retain your account information only as long as necessary to provide the App’s services to you.
  • Deletion: You have the right to delete your data at any time.
    • In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the App settings.
    • Plaid Disconnection: You can unlink your bank accounts at any time via the App settings. Once unlinked, the secure token is destroyed, and we immediately lose all access to the associated account insights.

6. Children’s Privacy

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes.
